This isn’t the real you

Here’s who you really are (and how to find him).

If you’re frustrated, angry, anxious, or depressed, the reason is simple.

You’re not being the real you.

There’s a separation between who you are and who you know you can be.

You must bridge that gap.

Who you are right now

Right now, you’re living life on passive mode.

The world happens to you and you don’t happen to the world.

You’re like a feather in the wind.

Being blown around without the discipline to keep you grounded.

In today’s world, being like that is dangerous because the wind is chaotic.

Without discipline, you’re subject to your impulses.

And your impulses can easily be influenced.

Think of the content you see online, the ads, the music you listen to, a products branding and packaging, etc.

All of that is designed to influence you into doing what they want you to do.

But what they want you to do is rarely what’s best for you.

You don’t have control, you’re being controlled.

All of these people and companies feed on your desire to feel good.

They hijack your limbic system for the purpose of profit.

They control what you think, say, and do to fill their pockets.

It is easy though, letting go of control and being lead by your impulses.

But it doesn’t feel right, your mental and physical health reflects that.

So currently, you’re in a body and mind that is subject to the will of others.

Being in a state like that, you can’t confidently say you’re being the real you.

The real you

The real you is disciplined, focused, relentless, and resilient.

Your ambition fuels you and you’re living up to your potential.

You are who you think and say you are.

You are your best version yet and you’re getting better.

Goals get checked and you feel unstoppable.

Self-belief and confidence is high, doubt and uncertainty is low.

You happen to the world.

You see what you want, work for it, and make it happen.

Your impulses are in check and no one can use them against you.

You think, say, and do whatever you want.

Now you really start to feel good as your mind and body is finally getting to where it’s supposed to be.

How to find the real you

Fight back.

Control what you consume and don’t give in to your impulses.

Start small, like with the content you consume.

Watch content that aligns with where you need to go.

Once you’ve corrected that, work on your other inputs whilst you become more mindful.

Recognise how certain inputs will affect you, from videos to music to people to food.

Consume inputs that will better you, refrain from inputs that won’t.

Eventually, you’ll audit everything.

You’ll have handpicked all your inputs to result in one output.

The best version, or the way that I see it, the real you.

Conclusion

I’ve been where you are before and I’ve been there for a while.

The path to where I am now is muddy.

It’s not easy at first but it will get easier with time.

The one thing I can tell you is: the grass is greener over here.
