The Fat Loss Mindset Plateau

The mindset plateau that can undo all your progress.

Plateaus add another layer of complexity to our lives.

After we see some progress, we hit a wall, and the only way to continue is by doubling down on our efforts.

We know of the physical fat loss plateau that you learn how to overcome in Cutting Concepts, but there’s another type too.

The mindset plateau.

What Is A Mindset Plateau?

As we know, starting a fat loss journey is difficult.

We need to learn new things, act in different ways, and always stay focused on the goal at hand.

Once we push through the first few weeks, things start to feel more natural.

It’s still a struggle, don’t get me wrong, but at this point, we’ve built some momentum that keeps us going.

We’re jumping over hurdles and seeing better results every day.

Then one day you wake up, maybe it was a video you saw the night before or a dream you had, but today, you just don’t feel like it.

Those old temptations creep back in.

You crave comfort, to crawl back into that hole you left long ago.

Physically, you’re at a high, but mentally, you’re tired.

You’re in the fat loss mindset plateau, and your decision here is critical.

Maybe skipping the gym today and having a slice of pizza does you no harm.

Or maybe doing so causes you to slip back to square one.

Do you want to take that risk?

4 Steps To Overcoming The Fat Loss Mindset Plateau

The mindset plateau is a mental barrier, so the best tools to equip reside in your head space.

Here are 4 steps to overcome the blockade.

1. Pause for a moment

Right now, you have thoughts of taking a break, and that break ends up lasting weeks.

Another word for that is quitting.

But before you take that path, just stop and wait.

Don’t make any impulsive or rash decisions, just slow down.

Give yourself some time to think, 5 to 10 minutes will do, then move on to the next step.

2. Remember your why

Why did you start? What’s kept you going? When was it? Where were you? How did you feel?

Remember your starting place and make that image crystal clear.

Take yourself back, put yourself back in your old shoes, and feel those emotions again.

The reason why you started is the reason why you’ll keep on going, so remember that.

3. See how far you’ve come

Now that you’ve brought your mind to the beginning, think of the events that took place thereafter.

The challenges you overcame, the battles you fought, and the person you’ve become.

Remember every struggle, remember the joy from accomplishment, and remember the progress you’ve made.

Making the wrong decision today will ensure that all you’ve been through is pointless and fruitless.

Remember your journey.

4. Future projection

Throw yourself into the future where you’re successful, how does that feel?

Those weeks, months, and years of consistent daily progress finally pay off.

You look in the mirror and see a different you.

You step on the scale and see a different number.

You walk around with a different level of confidence.

You talk to people and they talk differently to how they used to.

You gained everything you wanted

That reality can and will happen, it all depends on what you decide to do today.

Takeaway

Overcoming a mindset plateau takes just a few minutes.

It’s a process of reframing your mind to continue with your fat loss journey successfully.

Take those few minutes, it’ll save you from ruining months of hard work.
